Terms of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use My Yarn Stash. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Your Account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
• If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us immediately at hi@myyarnstash.app.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content.
• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
• Use bots or automation to abuse the service.
• Resell or redistribute AI credits or subscriptions.

4. Content Ownership

Your content is yours. Photos, notes, and project data you upload remain your property. We do not claim ownership of your yarn stash photos or project information.

However, by using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content as needed to provide the service (e.g., generating thumbnails, running AI extraction).

5. AI Features

Our AI extraction feature uses third-party AI services to identify yarn details from photos.

• AI extraction consumes credits (purchased separately or included with Plus).
• AI results are suggestions only—we don't guarantee accuracy.
• Photos sent for AI processing may be processed by third-party services (Replicate/OpenAI). We don't store your photos on third-party servers beyond the processing request.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

• Free accounts have limited features; paid plans (Plus) unlock additional functionality.
• AI credits are non-refundable after use.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled. See our Refund Policy for details.
• Payments are processed through Polar. By purchasing, you agree to their terms as well.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high uptime, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues may cause temporary downtime. We're not liable for data loss due to service interruptions—please keep backups of important information.

8. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted according to our retention policy (soft-deleted for 15 days, then permanently removed).

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific needs.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or $50, whichever is less).

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be announced via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
